Dual Monitors including Touch screen and 40'' TV

[ Back ] [ Reply ] [ Log On ]
Hi guys,

Basically my setup is as follows:

A wireless 10" touchscreen which I use as a remote for my HTPC under Win7, plugged to my HiFi and TV.

I activated the "dual screen support" and I just cannot get the DigitalCenter Controls on the touch screen and the "now playing" on the TV. It is always the other way around ie Digital Center opens on the TV and the "now playing" on the touchscreen.

Any way to assign a display to a specific screen or to choose which screen is the "Main Screen" and which one is the "Secondary screen".

Many thanx!
DS

Hi,

No replies?

Did anybody experience the same issue?
Is there a way to solve if?
Zenpoint Support Team?

I have been tryting several tweeks in the last few days and I did manage to drag the "Now playing" Screen on my TV and the "Digital Center" on my touch screen BUT:

- whenever I shut down and restart DC program displays shift again.

- after dragging the "Now playing" to the TV and the "Digital Center" on the touch screen, the display is either smaller or bigger than the screen it self (my TV and my touch screen do not have the same res.) and any adjustment using "Alt+F12" or "F5" just sends back (again!) the "now playing" to the touch screen and the Digital Center" to the TV.

Help!

Thanks,
DS

Sorry DS,
I tried to respond earlier, but something is up with my login to the forums. I had to create a new login.

You say you dragged the screen? You mean through Windows?

Did you ever set the displays in the Administration program?
Reboot and open the administration program and go to monitors (or display), can't remember, going off memory. Anyway, in there you should see options to set the primary display. I can look at my program if you need more info, but not until sometime tomorrow.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

Thanks for the answer.

To swap the displays, I windowed Digital Center by pressing F12 and dragged the window from one monitor to the other and did the same with the "now playing" window. My problem being, once the swapping done, I cannot resize the window to fit the screens and if I press F5, the screens swap again.

I went in the Admin program an opened the "Monitors" Tab.
It shows my "Primary Display"\\.\Display 1 and "Secondary Display"\\.\Display 2 but I see no way to shift from one to the other or to assign a specific monitor to a display.

I guess I still need some support.

Thanks,
DS

Hi Avg24,

Any luck with your program?

In the mean time, I did find a way to solve my problem by using "Dual Monitor Tools" which can switch the Primary Screen and the Secondary Screen just before launching DC and swithches back when you close DC.

I would prefer an inhouse solution through DC but at least it is working.

DS,
Here's what you do.
In Win7, right click on your desktop and click on Screen Resolution.
You should see a window come up that says "Change the appearance of your displays" and you will see your two displays pictured.
On the dropdown box that says Display, you will notice a number and name, example 1. Acer 2. AMD
Select your 10" monitor.
Below, you will notice a checkbox that says "Make this my main display"
Check that box and click ok. You may have to move desktop icons and change background settings after this.
Open DC Administration and go into the display section. Check the secondary display checkbox and close the program.
Reboot your computer and DC should launch exactly as you wanted.

Let me know how this works for you. I did it on my dual screen system and it worked fine. It did shift my icons and background a bit, but that is easily fixed.

Thanks Avg24, it worked!

Now if you don't want to have the hassle of shifting your icons and stuff and have an "automated shifting" while your are using DC, you can try using "DisMon" from Dual Monitor Tools (http://dualmonitortool.sourceforge.net/dismon.html).

It is quite handy because you can set it to lauch and close together with DC (see the link above).

Thanks for the help,

DS
