Blurry Album Art

[ Back ] [ Reply ] [ Log On ]
Hi, when I first set this up I left the image quality option set to "performance" rather than "quality" - since then I've wanted to make my album art clearer as 90% of them are quite blurry.

I changed the option to "quality" and also used the "reset music" button in the setup area, and then restarted my PC just to be sure. The artwork is still blurry though.

The images I have are JPGs, very crisp and highly detailed, and larger than the boxes ZenPoint uses - so i know its not my images which are at fault.

Any suggestions?
Thanks

Sorry, please ignore

The reason was the option didnt actually save when I closed the admin program, I had to set it back to 'quality' again and now its all great

Hmm... it seems everytime I restart the software, it reverts back to the blurry, low quality images.

No matter how many times I save the option in the administration software.

You have to reset your music collection after changing the quality.

Go into settings and press "Reset Music".

Yes but the point is I have to do that every single time I open the software. Surely thats not right?

You also have to press "Clear history" after you changed the quality.

If this still doesn't work, then check your write/modification permition to the directory "c:\program files\zenpoint\digitalcenter"?

I did that also, i've gone through those steps multiple times (which works) and then it always seems to end up resetting the next time I open it.

Permissions are all set properly to that directory for the user im logged in with

Hmm sounds strange, try to do it one more time, and now try to turn off "Check for music updates on startup".

The same thing happens me, i've downloaded the latest version of this sw and it still does the same.. I set the Image quality setting to Better Quality and the album art looks great when you open the music center. But if you close it down and reopen it the album art quality goes back to being blurry. You have to repeat the process of clearing the history and selecting the Better Quality option again.. Pain in the.....

If anyone is still having this problem like i was, this is what i found to be the problem.Sometimes i found images embedded into the tags. Some where larger then 500x500 and some smaller (which caused blurry covers) It appears the software looks for embeded images before images in the same directory.

Anyway hope this helps others as it drove me nuts till i figured it out.

I had the issue with blurry album art as well when I first configured my system a couple years ago.  I also rip all my music using Windows Media player.  My solution was to save a JPG picture of the album art in the root of each album folder and you must name the file   album.jpg  and make sure it is at least 500x500.  I had to go out to Amazon or use Google image search to find high res album art pictures for each of my albums.  When I did that the artwork looks great in Zenpoint and I have not had the issue since.
