Use your IPad or IPhone as remote control

[ Back ] [ Reply ] [ Log On ]
We have received a lot of questions regards setting up the IPad or IPhone as remote control to the ZenPoint DigitalCenter, all these questions was related to the windows firewall.

To setup your windows firewall to allow the ports 18000 and 18001 follow the steps below:

Now you will be able to use your IPad or IPhone if you have turned on the "Remote Control" inside the administration.

Silly question, but where is Ipad administration and how do you turn on "Remote Control"?  Is this under Ipad "Settings" or ?  Sorry, I don't know much of anything about Ipads or Apple products.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi Ken

Turn your remote control on inside the administration.

When this is done you can see the web address inside the digital center.

Use this web address from your smartphone / tablet browser or any other internet browser.

Best regards

Thanks Rick,

I seen your original posting a few weeks back and I was able to get this to work with a Galaxy Tablet, but when I try it with my smartphones (tried it with an android and windows phone) I get "We're having trouble displaying this webpage."  Any suggestions?  I have tried the web address over and over (typing it in several times) and I even deleted the rule and re-created it 3x over thinking I made a mistake.  I don't have the tablet anymore and it would be great if this would work on the windows smartphone???

Thanks,

JohnL

John,
Sometimes it depends on the browser being used. I'm not sure what you are trying, but if it's Windows, I am assuming Internet Explorer?
Try a different browser or try checking your settings in IE. Sometimes you may need to enable scripting.
On Android, I use Opera.

Also, you are using WiFi correct? NOT your phone's cellular data connection?
Sometimes specific data ports are blocked by cellular providers. You would have to try setting a different port in Zenpoint if you are trying cellular data. You can google your carrier and what ports they block to see what is available to use.
